Please print, read and sign both the OPS DBC Waiver and the RDA Waiver.  Both of these documents need to be given to us at the first practice.  Also please review the Safety Document.   These documents will be reviewed at the first practice.   Let us know if you have any questions in advance of the first practice.

"Are We There Yet?" team
This team was originally created in 2006 as the "Huron Swift Scales" with the objective to provide parents, school staff, and their children a chance to learn how to paddle a dragon boat and to experience the thrill of racing.  The objectives haven't changed, just the name to "Rusty Dragons".   It's all about having fun and doing something different on Canada Day.

LAST YEARS (2009) "Are We There Yet?"  INFO AND RESULTS...

Congratulations to the Rusty Dragons "Are We There Yet?" team for an amazing show of enthusiasm, determination, and results on Canada Day in 2009!

The team had a great day on the water, finishing THIRD PLACE out of seven teams!  The whole team has Bronze medals to show for their work and a great day of memories.   We proudly wore our NEW Rusty Dragons T-shirts and we certainly got noticed on and off the water.   The team coaches were very proud of all paddlers, especially each of our new paddlers.

2010 "Are We There Yet?" Canada Day team...
Team #1: Are We There Yet?
Parents and Kids team (includes practices)

This is the FIFTH year for this special team, which is unique in that it allows parents and their children (aged 10 and older) to race together in a fun dragon boat regatta on Canada Day at Toronto's Centre Island.  As always, you can't beat the entry fee as we do not charge for our coaching.  Kids aged 10-13 must be accompanied on the boat by a parent / guardian.

Last year, this team came in an amazing 3rd place out of 7 teams (which were all adults)!   Way to go!!

This team fills to capacity fast!  Review the info below and register via the RED BUTTON above to avoid disappointment!

Status (as of May 29): The team has 21 paddlers and we have room for 2 more paddlers on this special team.  Is there a mom/dad out there with a son/daughter that wants to join the team?  Come have fun with us!
Team #2: Motley Crue
Collective team of experienced paddlers

This is the SECOND year for this collective team that is open to anyone that is already practising  with another dragon boat team.  There are no practices included with this team.   The purpose of the team is to allow paddlers from other teams to race on Canada Day with us as their own team will not be there.

Last year, this team came in 1st place overall to win prestigious DDRA silver cups!   Can we repeat??

We will balance the boat in advance through careful seating planning, as well as adjustments after the first races.  Working hard has its rewards!

Status (as of May 29):  The team now has 23 paddlers and is FULL.  Thanks to all our friends who have joined the team!  If you want to paddle at the Canada Day regatta, contact us and we will try to find you a team.
"Motley Crue" collective team
This team was first created in 2009 as a way for friends of the Rusty Dragons with racing experience to paddle together at this fun event.  Due to the experience of the team members, the team was an early favourite to win the regatta and the pressure was on.  The team followed through on Canada Day with an exciting race in the "A" Final to win in a close race over the OPS Civil Dragons.

Registration is open to ANYONE from any team, as our goal is also to bring paddlers together from many different teams and share our passion for the sport of dragon boat racing.
