We are volunteering to help at the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival in any way we
can at this well organized and unique event in the Denver area.  We'll also get a
chance to paddle in both the Hong Kong style (standard) boats as well as the special Taiwan style (flag catcher) boats.  Please contact Tim to discuss how you might be able to help and/or participate in this event.  A special thanks to Coby Crowley for this unique opportunity, as well as the support of fellow Denver Rusty Dragons Rosalind Lee, Michelle Harrison, and Kalyn Black.

This opportunity was hatched at the April 14-21, 2013 dragon boat training camp in Indian Harbour Beach where we all paddled together as Rusty Dragons (or more correctly as the "Rusty Beasts" - the hybrid name given to us as half our boat were from the Dragon Beasts from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia).

Colorado Flying Dragons / Mutineers
Latest News (July 30): This was an AMAZING experience and one of the best regatta experiences that I have had in a long time.  From arrival Thursday to help with the boats, Friday's setting up of the buoys and race course, a weekend of racing (21 races with 4 teams!), and meeting old and new friends, it was awesome!  I will update this page soon with pictures and more details.  There are way too many people to thank, but the list starts with Rosalind Lee (Mutineers), Coby Crowley (Colorado Flying Dragons), and Kimetha King (Fed Force). I had a great time working with Bob Nelson on the race course and other logistics.  He's a guy with passion for the event and the sport, and I am certain we will be scheming together in the future.  Arizona?  Las Vagas?

RESULTS: The Flying Dragons won both the 250m and 500m championships, and along with the gold medals and trophies, they won free entry to the 2014 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Race Festival!
