DEAF LEOPARDS
1st Year of Racing for our Deaf / Hard of Hearing focused Crew!
We are working hard to put together a solid program that is catered to people who want to learn to paddle who are deaf or hard of hearing.  This is a very accessible sport and we want to make the effort to learn how to support such a team with the help of many people.

This will be a team that is focussed on having fun, learning good technique and strategy, and making the sport enjoyable and rewarded to people with hearing loss.  On the water, we will be no different than any other team and compete equally against other teams.  The team is open to people with normal hearing as well, including friends and family.

Our plan is not to teach a dragon boat coach how to learn sign language, but to teach an intervenor how to coach dragon boat.  And of course, an experienced dragon boat coach will also be on hand in support of the Intervenor(s) and the team.  The team will also be e-mailed the practice plan in advance of each practice, and the coaches will be freely available to answer questions both at practice and anytime via e-mail / phone.

If you have any questions about this team, contact any of the following individuals...
 > To Be Determined, Co-Coaches (Intervenors) - It is likely that Caroline Cook will be a co-coach!
 > Doug Hammond, Treasurer / Co-Captain, IngridJSchurr@gmail.com
 > Tim MacFarlane, Manager / Assistant Coach, Tim@RustyDragons.ca or call 647-971-7332.
